02 / Why we are writing

Erik,

Silicon Valley International School is entering a planning horizon where the physical campus is part of the academic promise. The Strategic Plan's site pillar makes facilities a visible expression of how the school supports bilingual, inquiry-based learning.

UFG Works would like to help carry the practical side of that promise at Cohn: clean classrooms, ready restrooms, responsive fixes, supported events, and a clear service record you can see without chasing it.

03 / Cohn Campus

The campus works all day. Facilities should, too.

A K-5 environment asks for quiet consistency: arrival, classroom transitions, recess, lunch, specialty rooms, after-school care, and the parent-facing moments in between.

Specialty spaces

Labs, media, and multipurpose use

Special rooms need service plans that respect equipment, student work, and rapid transitions.

04 / Strategic alignment

Mission-aligned facilities are already part of the plan.

SVI's Strategic Plan 2025-2032 names site, community, faculty and staff, academics, and philanthropy as connected priorities. UFG's work sits in the practical middle: the daily care that helps a campus feel ready, safe, and worthy of the program inside it.

06 / Services

Services, in plain language.

Janitorial and custodial

Classrooms, restrooms, shared spaces, floor care, high-touch cleaning, and after-hours resets.

Day porter

A consistent on-site presence for arrival, lunch, recess, spills, restocks, and parent-facing moments.

Maintenance and repairs

Doors, hardware, plumbing, lighting, finishes, minor fixes, and preventive checks before issues get louder.

Grounds and exterior care

Entries, play areas, paths, planting, irrigation checks, pressure washing, and seasonal readiness.

Deep cleans and summer turn

Floor work, carpet extraction, restroom restoration, high-dust cleaning, and paint touch-ups around school calendars.

Event setup and restoration

Board meetings, admissions events, cultural celebrations, and campus gatherings reset before the next school day.

07 / K-12 trust and safety

The table stakes are documented before anyone starts.

08 / Visibility without micromanagement

Useful visibility, not more follow-up.

UFG's quality rhythm gives campus leaders a simple view of what happened, what is open, what needs approval, and what can wait.

11 / Suggested next step

Twenty minutes at Cohn. A useful letter either way.

The cleanest next step is a focused walkthrough with Amy and Letty during a non-instructional window. SVI keeps the notes whether or not there is a next step with UFG.

  1. Walk Cohn Arrival, classrooms, restrooms, specialty rooms, exterior paths, and shared spaces.
  2. Document observations What looks strong, what could be tightened, and what belongs in a phased service plan.
  3. Decide what helps Summer deep clean, day porter, integrated service plan, or simply a useful facilities baseline.
